For those folks that suffer from panick attacks or if you know someone who suffers from panic attacks I recommend cognitive behavioral therapy to help with the cognitive aspects and biofeedback/neurofeedback is quite useful for to deal with the physiological components.
    Hope this helps you all.

    i know right

  5. zoetropez Says:

Gum. Ice. Water. Juice. Something to squeeze. A bag to breathe in. Distraction of some sort. A benzo in your pocket. Just don’t get upset and take their behavior personally. We feel trapped and aren’t at our best right now. And don’t act freaked out. Please.

  6. jessypooh24 Says:

I used to have them. It would feel like the world was caving in on me. I used to be frightened when I had one outside. It would feel like the clouds are falling on me

  7. khbklyn1102 Says:

I use to suffer from panic attacks, Honestly, you should see a psychotherapist they really help

  8. dmbfan07cb Says:

Your half right, it does help to have a comfort zone but at the same time you do need to work away from it and tackle it yourself. its a mix of both i reckon

  9. dmbfan07cb Says:

I feel the same way, but there are 2 or 3 people that I wont mind being around. the rest of them though i feel trapped when im with them because they dont know

  10. lala32290 Says:

Me to i cant have too much people around me either when im having one and i also cannot be touched. such a horrible feeling.ive been expriencing them ever since i can remember

  11. mls888888 Says:

    i chew gum. it helps.

  12. aklnj Says:

Heart infections and infections in the CSF can cause panic attacks. Make sure you have a excellent doctor who can rule out these serious problems. Tests like a DNA PCR and a dark field microscopy will confirm or rule out infections. Illnesses like Parkinsons, Alzheimers, MS etc now seem to have infections as the etiology. Lyme disease is one such infection that can cause panic attacks.

  13. kamratframjandet Says:

I don’t want any people at all around when I’m having an attack… Having people around makes it worse because I feel like I have less control over the situation, that I can’t just run away or lie down on the floor or whatever I may want to do. It’s obviously very different frome one person to another.

  14. Snoopo Says:

My wife was having a panic attack once, so I took advantage of the situation and sodomized her.

  15. deedoyday Says:

im not trying to comfort anyone. desensitize yourself from a comfort zone or a comfort person. what are you gonna do if they or that zone is gone?

  16. shroudedinmystery Says:

Spiffyacey is right, you’re sending out a message that no person can be trusted, which isn’t going to be of any comfort to someone who is already suffering feelings of paranoia.

While I don’t doubt that you feel you’re better coping by yourself with your disorders, this isn’t going to be the same for everyone, is it? And it’s not going to help other people who cope differently, is it?

Be careful of what you say, man. We’re not all the same, yeah?

  17. deedoyday Says:

it is the truth. i went through the whole lucinda basset program and thats one thing i learned and that helped me too. i am diagnoed with panic disorder, GAD and anxiety OCD.

it may not be what you want to hear. but it is what you need to hear and what will help in the long run.

  18. spiffyacey Says:

God knows I don’t want to be alone when I’m having a panic attack, and I have a very severe anxiety disorder.

Don’t go giving out a message like that, it doesn’t help.

  19. deedoyday Says:

your not supposed to help someone having a panic attacks. the person with the panic or anxiety disorder is supposed to deal with this disorder by themselves.

there is NO safe place, or SAFE person.

  20. RedSoxFreak85 Says:

ha yeah i know it. i play with my hair, rapidly go my hands, bite my nails off. ugh! i hateeee anxiety.

  21. madjimms Says:

How can she sit still like that? When I have panic attacks, I can’t stop moving for more than 3 seconds…….& pace around the apartment till my wife yells at me to lay down

  22. lolavex Says:

When I’m having one most of the time I want to suffer in silence. I go in a cold bathtub and tough it out by myself.

  23. nsewx Says:

drink cold water and slowly get to moving around the house..do something like the dishes or take a shower..anything that will take one less thing off your to do list.

  24. WizzardOfGlue Says:

you wasted your time telling me that?

  3. thewilddivine Says:

Fascinating video, seems like a case by case basis way to help.

  4. angie4josh Says:

    this is compleatly incorrect
YOU DO NOT COMFORT THEM AT ALL
IF YOU DO THAT YOU WILL ONLY HAMPER THE ANXIETY YOU FUCKING MORON FUCK EXPERT FUCKING VILLAGE DO NOT WATCH THIS IT IS GIVING FALSE AND HARMFULL INFORMATION I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE ANXIETY AND THIS IS TOTALY WRONG.

  5. Badcom911 Says:

i have panic attacks and what helps me isnt trying to talk about it while its happening but just having someone give me a hug and feel them breathe with me …….damnit now i miss my girlfriend :)

  6. Badcom911 Says:

watch the video “how to stop panic attacks” by bruceld its truly helpfull
and i know EXACTLY what you were describing…its terrifying :) hope it helps

  7. observer75 Says:

Nothing really stops mine cold but the best way I have found to reduce and end it quicker is to go outside and take a walk, anywhere, at a brisk pace and randomly call someone on my cell phone and just start talking about anything. Whenever the dread wave, the anguish, the impending doom, or whatever you want to call it comes I just reject it with an attitude. I really say, “shut the hell up, this is ridiculous, there’s nothing incorrect, stop being retarded” in my mind and it works.

  8. Themaskedchristian77 Says:

I get real light headed and feel like I can’t get a breath of course my hart is beating times a thousand and thoughts are racing through my head.

  9. Pwnzistor Says:

So, I just had a panic attack.. and the way they described this is nothing like I experienced, I was feeling extreme dread and impending doom, and I really didn’t want to be touched… But I suppose this is different things for different people.

  10. 4trooper4 Says:

damn how depression n stress takes us down doe fo real

  11. Themaskedchristian77 Says:

I get the same thing man

  12. robshaps Says:

Yes. It’s a shame that all these therapists have a license to keep people coming to them for years but miss the point of real healing which comes when the person learns how to take full emotional responsibility. Many people don’t want to hear that but it’s right.

  13. tayls1993 Says:

thats what CBT is, anxiety goes in circles and it will eventually fizzle out. if you give them reasurance they settle for a bit but deep in there mind they still believe what ever is worrying them is still improtant and therefore carry on the nervous cycle

  14. NagualElias Says:

I disagree with a lot of this advice. The best thing to do (which has helped me). Is to sit the person down… tell them to breathe deeply in through the nose and out the mouth. Get them a glass of water, or juice. and remind them it’s just a panic attack. it won’t kill them. hang in there with them to show support.

  15. robshaps Says:

Really, if you follow this advice, you are helping to keep the anxiety cycle going. The need for comfort and reassurance is sometimes the fuel for the anxiety. The person needs to learn how to soothe themselves – as daunting as that may be.

  16. agokonia Says:

paste this to 2 other videos

go to your channel and see your comments

    JUST DO IT IT’S SCARY!!
(omg I was SHOCKED when I saw my comments

  17. 4trooper4 Says:

me breath slowly not too slow but at da stage where u reckon if i breath dis slow my air s goin to ge cut off but it dont sorry if its so long jus tryin ta help u aint alone brotha

  18. 4trooper4 Says:

ey u know dis might sound stupid but im going through it right know but readng ya comment is helpin me cuz i know i aint alone i feel like im runnin out of breath thinking ima choke n die i went to da hospital n da doctor said dat while im panicking im hyperventalating where i try to breath quicker thinkin its gon help me den i feel weak from da legs n shaky trust

  19. quickdraw54 Says:

What do you expect from a video that’s under 2 minutes?! I have a family member that’s been dealing with this for 35 year that I know of. This IS excellent advice, but everyone is different and it’s a very complicated issue, involving chemical and emotional issues. This isn’t a terrible place to start if you are on the receiving end of a panic attack. Sometimes you can talk them through it by calmly logically reassuring the person that all is well. It’s their chemicals talking and it will quickly pass.

  20. roxlyn27 Says:

    agreed.

  21. owzabobo Says:

I fight the last comment, i dont reckon this video meant to be something to help panic attacks themselves… it was more on how to just be there and as someone that suffer from them everyday i applaude this video for one simple reason …. at no point did the person say garbage like just cool down … If youve had a panic attack the words cool down are prolly the worst you can hear…. so take this vid for what it is … I have and i reckon it was well done.

  22. tenscore Says:

this is a yucky distortion of what an anxiety disorder really constitutes… anxiety is the most common mental illness experienced by Americans today, “being there” for someone is the tip of the iceberg. Getting to the root of the anxiety is the challenge. The suggestion that you can overcome an anxiety or panic disorder through basic means is absurd. This is a neurological problem that has yet to be properly addressed.

  23. marissaobeirne Says:

Panic Attacks Are Horrible I Would Not Wish 1 On My Worse Enemy I Always Have Them:(

  24. InstantPanicRelief Says:

Excellent advice. Alot of people don’t “know” panic attacks, so they don’t know what’s like or how they can help.

Excellent thing you can learn how to overcome panic attacks.

  25. aklnj Says:

Do a DNA PCR to check for infections in the cerebro spinal fluid. Even with a negative result, if antibiotics produce a herx, then its confirmation of an infection.
