I dont know what people are saying about the diet things, but breathing for me is a huge one. Personally, my awareness of breath and posture gets better when I exercise, so sometimes when I feel myself getting a gut feeling that something terrible is going to happen (what happens before my anxiety attack) I focus really really hard on my breathing and lay down. After resting for a bit, I go for a walk around to get me even more focused on breathe and movement. Pretty calming stuff.

I know that for me, my anxiety attacks come from a result of a medical condition, but generally feeling terrible and stressed out certainly does nothing to help anxiety attacks. What CKSBoltaction says about how finding comfort zones sort of protect you from triggers is really the same for me. If I find places and people and activities that allow me to feel safe, I try do go/see/do those things often to feel more secure. Then I have something to reckon about, too, when triggers come up.

I’ve posted many videos on this as I suffer with Agoraphobia AGAIN. What you eat, drink ect doesn’t really help. It really depends on the triggers. I was living out of home for months, I’d met a girl who became my fiance, she was my rock (my comfort zone) I managaed to go out and even boat fishing, but when she left I went back to being Agoraphobic. I did go on paxil which did help also valium is a very helpful drug, though addictive, it really helps.

ANXIETY is a Structural Disease!!!! it’s not down to Weakness, so eating bananas, take supps or running round the block wont do shit!! CBT (Cogn. Beh. Ther.) is SEMI-USEFUL, I had a course of this and it helps to manage/recognise some of the triggers/sympt!!!. It’s a frustrating disorder that not many people know, it effects everything you do!!! and whats worse is the NHS are FUCKING USELESS. – best of luck!

I have heard from various sources that Baclofen can be helpful with Anxiety. Although Baclofen is not licensed for this purpose, some people have had major improvements in their condition with its use.
It won’t likely ever be used officially, BAclofens PATENTS are spent, so no means of funding the R&D on this. SHAME!!!!
Thankfully, Anxiety disorders are being taken more seriously by huge pharma, no less than 5 new drugs specifically for anxiety in the pipeline!!

Benzodiazepines should be avoided as a long term measure – Highly Habituating!!! your doctor wouldn’t supply these in your age range!!! Some people find using anti-histimenes (e.g Diphenhydramine HCl) useful, the slow the mind down a tad (drowsy).

BetaBlockers such as Propanolol (Inderal/Half inderal) curtail tachycardia!!! This doesn’t help the feelings and behaviours of anxiety . SSRI’s such as Fluxetine/Citalopram are antidepresents which are not very excellent at treating anxiety disorders doctors prescribe these all to often to people with anxiety disorders (Not Useful). Buspirone is pretty excellent in some patients it is non-habituating and has a better side-effect profile than SSRI’s.

Do something physical. Get a punching bag, run around the block once, do some push ups. Its doesnt have to be a lot of strenuous activity, just a few minutes to get rid of the flight or fight response…..check Deepak Chopra

to get rid of anxiety attacks: breath deeply and slowly, make sure to focus on each inhale and exhale you take. breath through your diaphragm, making your stomach expands and shrinks. this will help you. make an effort to focus on your breath everyday. like & peace always. -Andrea

but i mean if prescriptions help you then go for it but the side effects are really terrible and if you do it naturally with no prescriptions i reckon it is way better because you wanna feel normal and not always tired everyday. my suggestion to you is find that confidence in yourself always try to reckon positive, i know how hard it is but you’ll be ok. a pretty excellent program is with lucinda basset

what i do when i feel a small nervous is i try not to reckon whatever it is that is making me nervous and i reckon of something else like i tell myself yeah it’s my anxiety but it’s ok it will pass i’m gonna be ok or focus my attention to something else. i don’t recommend the prescriptions because my anxiety was gone for about a year and went to see my a psychiatrist because of my depression and when i took the drug my anxiety came back.
