For some reason I feel the term “black and white has never been so right,” refers to when thinking in absolutes. In this particular instance, it has never been better then trying to stay in the grey. Most people dont want to be ignorant, ie on either extremes; hence black and white. In the case where he says its “never been so right” probably means he’d rather just be dismissive and rid himself of the problem in the form of absolutes.

Does anyone else reckon it sounds like Thom has a cold when he is singing?

“Black and white has never been so right” is not a “term”… it’s a statement, or in this case, a lyric.
I’m pretty sure it would have something to do with ‘specifics,’ as in, not having a grey area. Rather, in regards to this specific lyric, the lyricist is metaphorically saying that it has never made more sense to have 2 distinct sides, in whatever he’s (poetically) referring to.
I don’t know how you come to this ‘contradictions in social groups’ theory, but i disagree with it.

The term “Black and white has never been so right” refers to contradictions in social groups. Means people who are hypocrits would be this term’s definition.
Hope that helps =] and Frank a fantastic bassist, andrew is one of my fav drummers of ever and Thomas is just rediculus on guitar =]

i really agree. i personally like the new sound and it would be a shame if thomas was to stick with the same style music. his talents far surpass anyone else in any genre.
