@tomgunc No offense Tom, and I totally get what you're saying. But people that are reading this, generally don't need to be panicked anymore or put under any more anxiety that they already are. Trying to overcome fear takes a huge amount of positive thinking and calmness...but just on reading your messages made me start to panic and worry and pulled me right out of that state of focus and calm.

Sometimes, it's just not helpful to voice everything...no offense intended.

I am not trying to put her theory down put when your heart is doing 168 to 200+ there is no help....there is no you'll be fine. You are on your own and if the heart can't hang then you just meet your Creator. Yes even if the flight is from LAX to say Las Vegas. But once again, if you are at the begining stages of panic attacks and anxiety it's easy to get off the bandwagon.

If people have panic attacks....true hard core panic attacks then it's not the flying they fear. They fear because there is no returning or going back to safety. I think this way...hey it's only 4hours and 32 mins to go there and 3 mins back or 18 mins back. Not much you can do unless you take a boat load of medication perhaps. When you are in the early stages of panic it's easy...but once you're in panic mode for 10 or 20 yrs good luck breathing from your belly and being super positive.

Also, please note this video starts out talking about panic attacks triggered by flying. Flying is very taxing on the vestibular (inner ear) system. When your vestibular system is not functioning correctly, your brain gets confused by the inputs it receives and triggers the flight or fight response which in turn causes most of the other nasty symptoms of attack. I suffered as well and I know what it's like. I'm not here to make money, I just want to help. Get your ears checked folks...

Anyone have inner ear problems? Here's a suggestion: Get the book "Phobia Free" by Harold N. Levinson. get it used on amazon or from the library for I have no financial interest in Levinson's work, just an emotional one. The book saved my life. Panic free for 16 years from a simple inner-ear medication called meclizine. Get your inner-ears checked, thoroughly. Write me, I'll send links to 13 medical studies on pub-med showing link between panic/agor and inner ear problems. Correlation:60-90%.
